Cure Book Club – Why Join a Book Club?
The CURE Book Club will once again be a monthly event for our members with special guest authors from around the world. This time we are working to make this year’s Theme Book – The Cure Book Part 2 a bigger and more exciting experience. Last year’s Book Club was about overcoming the challenges of postpartum depression, this year we are looking forward to talking about the different ways that women heal themselves. The theme for this year is Recovery, and we are also teaming up with Cure Book to bring you an exciting month-long event that will allow women to discuss and learn more about this fascinating topic. It is also a great opportunity for you to get some new ideas for your own blog, newsletter, or even a website related to your own healing work.
It has been a very popular Events & Adventures group since its inception and continues to be a favorite among many women. Each month the club hosts a themed storytelling night, musical night, and movie night. Recently the club hosted an amazing auction and benefit concert for an amazingly lucky couple who were experiencing financial difficulties due to their divorce. The couple met at the CURE Book Club and have become great friends to many others.
The CURE Book Club: Women’s Recovery from Postpartum Depression and Co-Ed Entertainment with Libby Gillerman
A cure book club is a monthly event that focuses on women’s recovery from postpartum depression. This time we are planning to have a much bigger and more spectacular show at our summer house, complete with co-ed entertainment. Our current co-ed guest is Libby Gillerman, the creator of the internationally recognized Top Secret Fat Loss Secret. Libby is an incredible woman who has transformed herself not only physically but also spiritually and is inspiring women everywhere to find their own way out of the hole that has gotten them into this situation.
This is an amazing opportunity for women to learn from Libby, a woman who has been there and done that. The cure book club is also happy to announce some more exciting entertainment in the form of our new guest DJ, Rob Wallace! Rob brings his electronic dance music with him wherever he goes and it will be sure to make your move on the dance floor as well as teach everyone about why moving their body can help them take control of their life back again. We hope you all join us this Saturday night July 12th at nine o’clock sharp for another great evening full of healing, laughter, tears, and dancing!
Libby’s book club has also added a new member to the ranks: Miriam Shauli. She is a mother of three living in Orange County who discovered a method for effectively and comfortably balancing work, family life, and her desire to find a deeper spiritual connection. After sharing her story with the women at the CURE Book Club, she was invited to join their group. She has now become a dedicated leader of the ladies’ group and continues to use the methods she learned to enrich the lives of her family and to share her story with as many women as possible.
CHASME: Community Initiative for Uplifting Minds and Spirits
What drives some people to create communities of love and support? In the case of CHASME, a nonprofit organization that provides women and their children with the resources they need to create a loving home and community, it is an emotional drive. Members of CHASME’s community utilize books, songs, and videos to inspire strength, hope, and knowledge. As a result, families in their communities have strong senses of belonging and community spirit.
Research shows that kids who are unable to grow up in a loving and supportive family environment have an increased chance of having a mental illness or growing into criminals. These risks can be mitigated when children feel secure, loved, and supported by the adults around them. This is why programs like CHASME’s exist: they enable families to build communities where love prevails over fear.
In order for these types of programs to thrive, there must be resources available as well as community members committed enough to volunteer their time so that other people may benefit from this support system too. There are several ways you can help women and children in your area become part of a caring community with abundant resources such as
- videos, or even art supplies!
So why should you join a co-ed book club? There are several benefits. Women come together to discuss issues facing both genders such as equal rights, combating violence against women, and the importance of gender equity in education. Additionally, sharing ideas with like-minded members strengthens relationships and can lead to lifelong friendships. Through the CURE Book Club, these friendships have expanded to include people from other parts of the country and around the world!
The CURE Book Club has brought so much hope to women in my community. I feel connected to my co-ed friends and have come to realize that although we may be worlds apart in many ways (geographically speaking), we have much in common. Our shared desire to help women and children escape harmful circumstances, overcoming trauma, and coming out winners, has helped us form a tight-knit community of support for each other and for our work.
